I heart a great theme, part 2
Always looking for a new theme, for this fall fashion preview, I went with TV and the Emmy Awards (which ran soon after this section was published). I selected some of my favorite nominated shows, and then asked locals to model. Restaurant PR pros posed in a restaurant as Anthony and Carmella Soprano, employees of a paper warehouse represented The Office, members of the local hair/makeup/modeling scene depicted Ugly Betty. And a local film director and his posse posed as the cast from Entourage. Lots of fun and a great way to get the community involved. I also designed these pages.
Yes, this shoot is old -- actually one of my first -- but I still love it. I had this idea to use '80s women rockers to show off the rock and '80s styles for this particular season, and ended up recreating cool album covers. We shot most of these in our tiny studio (Cyndi Lauper was shot in front of a bail bonds building down the street!), duplicating the backgrounds, clothing and hair, all with a modern twist. I also designed these pages.
